It’s a quickstrike EP from two of London’s biggest rappers Dave and Central Cee, who have decided to get together for a quick summer EP. This month on the 25th anniversary of the birth of both Dave and Central Cee, the pair released a four-song project called “Split Decision“, which coincided with the release of the 25th anniversary album. In addition to Jim Legxacy, Kamal, and Kyle Evans, there are many other producers who contributed their talents to the production.
In the days leading up to Split Decision’s debut, fans enjoyed an exclusive taste of their lead single “Sprinter,” a song aptly titled in tribute to the duo’s freestyle nature.
“Cench” was released with its own accompanying visual, which depicted him and his girlfriend live it up in Monaco by owning yachts and high-end cars to go along with the song. There is also a scene at BeauBeaus in East London where the two mimicked traditional warm weather vibes and created warm weather vibes.
In keeping with what many had expected, “Sprinter” landed at the top of the U.K. Singles chart after being sold 108,200 times, which includes a total of 13,4 million streams, which is an unbelievable amount for any single. According to Official Charts, it has been the biggest opening of the year since the start of 2023, and it has also had the biggest week of streaming number for a hip-hop song ever, surpassing Stormzy’s “Vossi Bop” (12.7 million streams) from last year.
We’re All Alone in This Together, which is Dave sophomore album that he released in 2021, was comprised of 12 songs with a variety of collaborators such as Fredo, James Blake, Wizkid, Ghetts, Giggs, and Snoh Aalegra. Following a year following Central Cee’s debut mixtape, 23 was released a year later. As a matter of fact, each of their respective albums topped the British Record Albums chart following the release of their debut albums.
