NAO has just released her latest album, And Then Life Was Beautiful. A total of 13 tracks are included in the new package, with features from Lucky Daye, Lianne La Havas, Adekunle Gold, and more. Prior to releasing the album in full, the group released a single called “Better Friend,” in which NAO explored the highs and lows of friendship:
In her words, “‘Better Friend’ is about losing friendships or growing apart from them,” she describes the song. Wishing them a pleasant journey and lots of luck.
Nao shared a sneak peek of what’s to come a few weeks ago when she released the single “Messy Love,” along with a stunning video directed by Lisette Donkersloot. Her previous tracks “Wait” and “Antidote,” a collaborative single with Adekunle Gold, were equally popular “Antidote”. In a social media post, Nao explained the motivation behind the song. The song, antidote, was written as both an ode to our daughters, born weeks apart but years apart during the pandemic, and as a remedy for us during these times.
