Celebrating Our Own Black Music And Entertainment Icons | REVOLT BLACK NEWS

If we don’t celebrate our own, who will?! In this segment of “REVOLT BLACK NEWS Weekly,” we honor Black icons in music and entertainment who were bestowed with the honor of being inducted into Atlanta’s Black Star Walk of Fame. They include Ray Charles, Cicely Tyson, Smokey Robinson and Berry Gordy. Other stars — though not being inducted — who will be given their flowers during the event include Yolanda Adams, Snoop Dogg, Tyler Perry, the late Prince, Lauryn Hill, TLC, BeBe and CeCe Winans, New Edition, Lionel Richie, Mary J. Blige, and Donald Lawrence.

Inspired by Sean “Diddy” Combs’ successful “State Of Emergency: The State of Black America & Coronavirus” town hall, “REVOLT BLACK NEWS” is a platform that is designed to report news from the perspective of Black people for Black people.

“When I started REVOLT, I always wanted to develop a platform to report the news from our perspective, from our lens, from our people, so I decided to launch ‘REVOLT BLACK NEWS.’” said Combs. “We’re here with solutions. We’ve already heard about what we can’t do, but this is what we can do.”
