Young T & Bugsey released their debut album, Plead the 5th, last year, which featured 12 tracks plus contributions from Aitch, Morrisson, Fredo, and Headie, the last of whom appeared on the group’s hit single, “Don’t Rush,” and track which eventually led to a whole album of remixes. Furthermore, the Nottingham duo’s spotlight-stealing features have been found on tracks including Headie One’s “Princess Cuts” and Not3s’ “Boom Bam.”
Young T & Bugsey then released “New Shape” in November, presumably looking to continue their success. The track opened the door for an official followup. “Prada Bae,” a collaboration between Young T & Bugsey and Luton’s Nafe Smallz, continued that campaign last weekend. This song was produced by Quincy Tellem, who featured two artists harmonizing about women and their rich lifestyles:
Nafe Smallz had a productive year in 2020 as well, especially since he contributed to 14 cuts on his solo project Goat World along with M Huncho, Nines, Wretch 32, Chip, Young Adz, Miraa May, and more. He and M Huncho would collaborate on DNA a few months later, a project that landed the two artists at no. 6 on the UK’s Official Albums chart, as well as no. 2 on the Hip Hop and R&B Singles charts.
