SG8 creator Duckwrth is keeping a steady stream of previews coming as he prepares to release his new project. In addition to “Birthday Suit” and “Make U Go,” he also appeared on Settle The Score” with Cordae from Space Jam: A New Legacy’s soundtrack.
This time around, he offers up his latest release, the “4K” track. Phabo assists Duckwrth on his new single, which draws inspiration from the pandemic and its aftermath. In a press release, he claims, “it was right when we all started flocking to Hawaii and Tulum” that he wrote the song about 4K. While still having fun, adjusting and acclimating. The line “Was your pandemic popping?” is paradoxical.When we let loose with the pandemic, it turned into a movie
The song appears on his upcoming fall EP, SG8*, which stands for Super Good 8, the brand he created and the next phase of the story he is currently writing for the 2020 album. Various other artists are also featured on the forthcoming EP, including WaveIQ (Jaden Smith, Goldlink) and Loshendrix (SZA, Brent Faiyaz, Kehlani). Dates on his tour that starts in September have already been sold out in Atlanta, New York, Boston, Los Angeles, and Oakland. Moreover, he has a series of recent campaigns with Vans and Adidas Originals.
Duckwrth’s SuperGood project was unveiled back in 2020. The album featured 16 tracks and features from two from Julia Romana, KIAN, EARTHGANG, G.L.A.M., Kyle Dion, Jean Deaux, Alex Mali, Radio Ahlee, and BAYLI. Additionally, Duckworth has assisted recent projects including Caleborate’s Louis the Child’s Here for Now (Deluxe), Light Hit My Skin, and Tobe Nwigwe’s CINCORIGINALS.
