You should familiarize yourself with Venna if you’re not already. Aside from working with some of your favorite artists, the producer-saxophonist has also created music for Snoh Aalegra, 6LACK, Wizkid, J Hus, Stormzy, and Burna Boy He might be the coolest musician since Terrace Martin, quite frankly.
Venna has collaborated on a number of albums, but “Standout,” a collaboration with Knucks, appears on the latter’s 2020 album London Class. A new single from the talented duo, “Standard,” mixes jazz-like hip hop with some of the boastful, confident bars that made the previous single so famous – especially with this description:
Director Adama Jalloh also delivers a video for the song that matches the vibe of the track to an absolute T, as Venna and Knucks are both spotted relaxing in the park. Venna ends the clip chilling on the back of a convertible with his instrument by his side as he views beautiful black people taking photos, playing soccer, and more.
From Venna’s upcoming EP Venology, “Standard” is one of the tunes. In an interview with Complex, the rising star spoke about collaborating with Knucks on the project and the creative process that led to it.
