In March, Kali closed out the month with the release of her latest single, “Area Codes.” In the few months that have passed since the track was released, the feisty track has gained traction on the TikTok platform. This week, Georgia-bred emcee Gucci Mane capitalizes on the momentum she is building by dropping the music video for her latest single Kali raps about the type of men she encounters in a rowdy high school environment in a new video, which has been directed by American rapper Adonis Blackwood, and highlights the issues she faces there:
The 22-year-old American rapper released his first mixtape, Toxic Chocolate, in March of 2022, which was packed with seven tracks and featured appearances from artists like ATL Jacob, Yung Bleu, BIA, Moneybagg Yo, and Latto. In the years since the release of her debut album, she has come out with videos for songs like “New Day,” “UonU,” and “Standards” as well as freestyles for songs like “Dangerous,” “Waddup,” “FNF,” notably last but not least, “3M’s.”
As previously mentioned, Kali released her This Why They Mad Now project in 2021, which contained a number of the tracks from her viral hit “Do A Bch” as well as other tracks that were favorites of her fans, like “Bad Bad Bad” and “Big Body.” The project consisted of seven tracks in total in addition to a single feature from Kethehe Man. The following year, following the success of the “Do A Bch” song, she returned to remix the song by collaborating with Rico Nasty.
