It is expected that the Baby Stone Gorillas will release their mixtape The Military on February 10. Upon the release of this project, you will be able to listen to a 23-track body of work that will be in partnership with Park Money Records/EMPIRE. In order to celebrate their impending debut album, the California rap quartet which is made up of EKillaOffTheBlocck, P4K, 5Much, and Top5ivee returned to the scene to share a preview of what we can expect from them in the near future. The track, titled ‘Block Benders,’ was released alongside an accompanying video that was developed by YourJustNTime, in addition to the brand-new track. As P4K flows over the piano-driven instrumental, he sets the tone with his fearless rapping over the track.
There were a lot of waves made by Baby Stone Gorillas in 2022 with BABYST5XNE GORILLAS, the team’s debut album which featured features from 1takejay, G Baby, Wallie The Sensei, Slumlord Trill, Youngaveli, and others. In addition to that, they went on to release two more projects during the course of the year, GOTDAMNIT BABYSTONES and Lion-Hearted Gorillas, which was a collaborative effort between them and Gotdamnitdupri.
I remember in one of our previous interviews EKillaOffDaBlocck being candid about how the rise of the Baby Stone Gorillas group was organic. As he said, “We did not have any music on any DSPs,” he stated. “We were not thinking about it too hard at the time. Originally, we were just planning to upload it to YouTube. We promoted the album on Instagram and it developed a following among people in our area who started listening to it. As far as I can tell, it was all local love, and then it kind of went up.”
