A very special project was released last October by one of Dreamville’s most popular artists, Lute, with the title Gold Mouf. As part of the offering, 13 tracks were offered and a number of names from the label made appearances on the album, including Ari Lennox and J.I.D, Cozz. Additionally, you can listen to BJ The Chicago Kid, Saba, Westside Boogie, and more. The official deluxe upgrade was released by DJ Drama this past April, which added on six new tracks, such as “Like Wine” a song that was also included on DJ Drama D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape.
The Charlotte-bred emcee returns today (Nov. 1) to unveil the latest offering from his upcoming album, the official video for the single “Finding Self.” Created by Juan Felipe Zuleta, the new video unveils an exploration of self, as fans are shown the journey in which he takes them. There is a powerful message about discovery in the lyrics that Lute delivers in the song:
In a recent interview with The Huffington Post, the “Ambitions” rapper discussed how his latest project was able to help him recover from some recent years that were tough for him. “Creating a Deluxe version gave me something to look forward to during the holiday season,” he said. I found myself in a position where I was able to appreciate what I had done. It gives me a sense that I’m doing something and I’m working because again, I’m the type of person where I work through my traumas.”
