Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo are still battling for the starting quarterback job in San Francisco and while Kyle Shanahan hasn’t named a starter yet, he told reporters he has a quote: ‘pretty good idea’ who’ll be under center Week 1 for the 49ers. For what it’s worth, Jimmy G also told reporters he has a good idea who’ll be QB1, and seems pleased with the current status. He said quote: ‘Yeah, I have a pretty good idea. It’s whatever [Shanahan] decides, yeah. I have a pretty good idea. I’m pretty happy with where I’m at right now and everything and just the offense as a whole. Yeah, Kyle’s the head man.
