It was announced last week that DJ Drama is gearing up to release the next official Gangsta Grillz mixtape. This time around and for the first time in the franchise, he will be collaborating with G Perico. Hot Shot is going to be officially released later this year by Los Angeles rapper The Game and Grammy Award-winning producer Phenom, as part of their joint project. Earlier today (Feb. 14), the duo unveiled a brand new music video from the latest project as part of its first glimpse at the project, titled “Action.” The music video makes use of G Perico’s laid-back flow as he describes his rock star lifestyle during his rap.
In 2022, G Perico delivered his last album under the name SOUTH CENTRAL, which was a 12-track project produced by G Perico featuring 2 Eleven, Slumlord Tril, Casey Veggies, Tapri Grams, and M.I.L.$. Besides his own releases, G Perico has also been featured on several collaborative projects including “No You Not” produced by DaBoii, “Hair Salon” created by REASON and Cozz, and more.
As a tastemaker and producer, DJ Drama has continued to have a consistently active career. Over the past year, DJ Drama has released a number of joint releases including most recently, Back On Dexter with Kash Doll, Book Of David featuring Dave East, Rollin’ Stone with J. Stone and Coke Boys 6: Money Heist Edition featuring French Montana.
