It was back in July when Brent Faiyaz released his much-anticipated album WASTELAND. In addition to the featured artists on the project, there were appearances by L3gion, Raphael Saadiq, DJ Dahi, Alicia Keys, Jorja Smith, The-Dream, Jonathan “Freeze” Wells, Jordan Waré, and more. In the weeks leading up to the album’s release, fans enjoyed some well-received previews, including “Wasting Time,” the former featuring Drake AND “Gravity” featuring Tyler, The Creator and the latter produced by The Neptunes.
Video clips associated with the album were shared by the DMV-bred artist, including “VILLAIN’S THEME” and “PRICE OF FAME.” Last weekend, Faiyaz released the official visual for “LOOSE CHANGE.” In the video, directed by Mark Peaced and Lone Wolf, Faiyaz appears at a glamorous ballet show. As the opening lyrics play, Faiyaz, the guest of honor, appears and is surrounded by paparazzi:
In 2020, the “Clouded” singer released a self-titled EP that peaked within the top 20 of Billboard’s 200 chart shortly after its release. Afterward, he released a ChopNotSlop version to keep the momentum going. As part of his surprise TOO LATE TO DIE YOUNG EP release in 2021, he reunited with fellow Sonder members Atu and Dpat.
