Ari Lennox says she was racially profiled at Amsterdam airport, resulting in her arrest

The airline staffer who racially profiled Ari Lennox was arrested Monday morning (Nov. 29) at the Amsterdam Schiphol airport, Lennox said on Twitter. According to the “Shea Butter Baby” singer, she had never before encountered “racism so blatant.”

As a result of reacting to a woman who racially profiled me, Lennox was arrested in Amsterdam on Monday morning. She said, “Fuck that security. These people hate black people.”

Adding to her tweet, she wrote, “Racism.” I am horrified, Amsterdam. This woman was an evil woman and I’ve never seen racism as blatant as this before. “I had never experienced racism like this before.”

She continued, “I just want to go home.” “I will never leave my house ever again.”

Lennox has been arrested for disturbing public order, aggressive behavior toward an airline representative, and public intoxication by Dutch military police, which is reportedly responsible for security at the airport.

Police spokesperson Robert van Kapel told Reuters that his officers found a woman full of emotions who would not calm down. He said that is why she was arrested.

Moreover, Lennox’s threats to an airline employee are being investigated by police, according to the spokesperson. Currently, it is unclear when the “Unloyal” singer will be released from police custody; as of 10am Eastern Standard Time, she had not updated Twitter.

At the 2021 Soul Train Awards, Lennox performed her latest single “Pressure” on Sunday evening (Nov. 28). The award show also featured performances from Silk Sonic, Lucky Daye, and others; and trophies went to Kirk Franklin, Silk Sonic, Jazmine Sullivan, Giveon, and more.

“The Game”, a sports-based drama comedy, is being revived by Paramount+ this Saturday (Nov. 27). Lennox made her acting debut in the show. The actress tweeted, “Make sure to watch #TheGame on [Paramount+],” her acting debut.
