Since Russ dropped “Paddington Freestyle” and “Yes Sir” in early April, fans have been waiting until the new project is released. In keeping with the momentum, he returns today with the official release of “Are You Entertained” in collaboration with Ed Sheeran. Together, the two pay tribute to Jamal Edwards by bringing to life Russ’ inspiring lyrics as they play:
In addition to sharing how the collaboration with Sheeran came about, Russ explained how the project came to be. The moment has been so meaningful to me,” he wrote on Instagram. “When I approached Ed at a restaurant (Carbone), I assumed he was unfamiliar with me. I simply wanted to introduce myself and ask what’s up. Within a few minutes, I’m drinking wine and eating pasta at his table and talking about everything. The song we had was ready for a video a couple of months later. Therefore, he provided me with the contact information for Jamal Edwards, a wonderful visionary and gifted artist who wrote the treatment for the video”.
As of April, Russ released his latest album If Not Now, When?, A brand-new EP with four new songs was released for the fans. In December, Chomp 2 was released, which was the follow-up to the equally well-received 2020 EP of the same name. There were 14 tracks on the first Chomp, including collaborations with Hit-Boy, Ransom, Jadakiss, Papoose, Styles P, The Game, Westside Gunn, Wale, Jay Electronica, Snoop Dogg, and more.
