A new album by NBA YoungBoy titled Don’t Try This at Home is expected to be released shortly, and it will feature a whopping 33 songs. A new single by the Baton Rouge singer, titled “Rear View,” is forthcoming today (April 14) along with a video featuring Mariah the Scientist. As DrellOnTheTrack and Khris James provide melodic production to YoungBoy’s song, he expresses his desires over the accompaniment of melodic production.
“Rear View” is accompanied by a clip courtesy of YoungBoy’s go-to director Isaac Garcia as he reveals the song’s story. The “38 Baby” rapper was spotted pouring his heart out in front of the residence for which he resides in Utah. A few lines later, Mariah addresses the story of the woman from two different places in the middle of an empty football field, according to her perspective.
In terms of sound, Don’t Try This At Home is the follow-up to YoungBoy’s January release of I Rest My Case, which marked the first official release from YoungBoy under his current record contract with Motown Records at the time of its release. As YoungBoy embarked upon his career in 2022, he unleashed a career-worth of commercially successful projects, such as Realer 2,The Last Slimeto, Colors, 3 Lost Files, 800 Degrees, and Ma’ I Got A Family. In the same year as Better Than You, he also teamed up with DaBaby and Quando Rondo to create 3860, a song that was produced by them both.
