When discussing the merits between Wyclef Jean and his Fugees bandmate, Lauryn Hill, the crew got into a deep conversation about the semantics and mechanics of songwriting. They spoke about the contradictions and similarities between lyrical rappers and those who know how to write a hit song. They preached the importance of respecting those who have longevity in the rap game, using Joe’s Pump It Up as a prime example of becoming a staple and how difficult of a task that really is.
