Summer Walker always seems to have some fantastic new music to share, and there can never be a bad time to listen to it. The Atlanta singer-songwriter Rose Phyllis launched her career back in 2018 with the release of her first mixtape, Last Day Of Summer, and has effortlessly delivered the Soulful, sultry vibes her fans have come to expect from her music at a high level. With the recent conversation on social media about how R&B as a whole and how it is “dying” on the internet, it couldn’t have been a more perfect time to gift listeners with a fresh batch of music from the 27-year-old.
During this springy period, before we enter into summer, Summer Walker’s new CLEAR 2: SOFT LIFE EP has the perfect window for it to make its way to the masses.
The news of the project was first announced by her during her set at the Dreamville Festival a few weeks ago. Since that time, fans have been longing for it with much anticipation. We are happy to announce that the wait is over today (May 19). In a recent social media post, the songstress shared with her followers a sneak peek of what her fans can expect on the EP, which will be released later this year. It is clear from the clip that she is having a blast with her friends, Sexyy Red and Sukihana. Among the humorous highlights of the clip is the way the trio is pictured lounging by the pool and sampling caviar in a humorous manner, just before the track lists for the EP are released. There seems to be much softness in their lives, much like the title would suggest.
As the follow-up EP to the sophomore album Still Over It (2021), CLEAR 2: SOFT LIFE EP is packed with a whole lot of heat from top to bottom and is sure to satisfy even the most discriminating fans. I enjoy listening to the project as it creates a sense of bliss, and it seems as though it is only a matter of time until she returns with an LP of her own. Summer Walker has a collection of nine records on her album, which is embellished with features from both Childish Gambino and J Cole. It is believed that the EP, while it is solid in its own right, is just an appetizer for something that is going to be much bigger and more satisfying.
