Two4 Talks New Music, New Collaborations, and What’s Next with Minnee!

  • Hey Two 4! Thank you so much for taking the timeout to speak with me today on behalf of MusicHypeBeast. Let’s jump right in and get into all things Two 4, your artistry, and more! Bringing it back to beginning, who is Two 4 and where did it all begin?

“I describe myself as a humble, ambitious kid. You know what I’m sayin’, really just tried to find a way. So I stay hands on, doing a lot of different things. Just trying to keep from becoming a statistic. I was always active, like, no matter what it was. I don’t care if it was church, school, I was trying to be on the positive side of things. And if I ever did something, I tried to be the best. So I just say, an ambitious, ambitious kid. To be the best at whatever I did”.

  • What’s your creative process like? Do you punch in and out or put pen to pad?

“Studio sessions with me are like, I really get in a tight headspace when I decide to go to the studio. And I do punch in and punch out.  But I don’t write, I really like just go off the heart. Alot of people say I go off the top, and off my mind. But a lot of times I just go to the studio, which is late, whatever I’m going through or however I’m feeling at that moment.

So if I’m feeling turnt, I’m going to go in and make a turnt song. I’m going to make a lit song and it’s just gonna come out – I’m going to vent. The music is really my medicine so I’m gonna go you know saying back and forth to the studio to vent. It’s my human diary – my songs. I put all of my stuff in my music”.

  • Many may not know, but you’re a multifaceted musician who’s skilled in instruments such as drums, bass guitars, and keyboard. Are there any other instruments you know how to play or are wanting to learn?

“I definitely am. I want to do a whole Live band. I was thinking about making or starting off, by just making some beats and seeing how they kind of go, but I never want to just jump off the deep end. Then I started rapping so I just never got back into it. But still interested!”

  • Let’s get into your latest offering “Ex Hoe”! What was the inspiration and how did it come about?

“Exactly what the title say lol. It’s the real deal. You know, that’s what goes on and everybody got the same scenario. If anything they will understand what I’m saying. You know, when you meet somebody and start doing better in life, they come back into your life. That’s really with anybody though. And that is what inspired me to make this song”.

  • Can we expect the visuals in the near future?

Fasho! I’m working on it right now as we speak. I just got done. I also just had a big show last night, with MoneyBagg Yo, Sexxy Redd, Finesse 2 Times, my brother Big Boogie and a few others. You know, various artists popped out at the BJCC legacy arena in Birmingham, Alabama. So I’ve been working. And actually I got another show today at a Pep Rally at my alma mater, my high school. Then I’m going to Dallas and Houston this weekend.

  • With a slew of singles, which record has your favorite bar in it and why? What bar is it?

“I guess my hit record “We Outside”. I mean, it was the simplest, you know, but I was saying it before it became a thing like that’s why I mean so much to me. I think I really came up with that song in like 2019 – 2020. But, I didn’t really know what I had on my hands until, you know, I started getting opportunities you know, but I think it’d be definitely a verse from “We Outside”.

Really can’t pick just one verse because I went like bar for bar slam to slam on content and context on everything that was going on around that time. You know? A lot of people have heard the song, they just have to put a face to it. So that’s what we’re doing, moving around, they’re like oh shit, I heard that song before, that’s you? I’m like, yeah that’s me. Two4. So that you know lock in, and they be like iight I like you I’m going to tap in then they go around and check me out”.

  • Since stepping into the spotlight, you’ve come through with some creative collaborations including TLE Cinco, ED Eazy, Big Boogie, and more. Who else is on your collaboration wishlist that we can possibly keep an eye out for?

“Oh I mean, I’ve been in contact with a lot of people. Me and my brother big boogie, we got another hit! We have another hit, another song right now.  I previewed it on Instagram, but I ain’t gonna leak too much information about it. But yeah, YTB Fatt, you know, MoneyBagg’s artist. I look forward to working with Bagg too. We are locked in right now. So you know, I want to deep dive into the female lane and stuff real quick. Because they really got it popping, and it’s hot right now.

So you know, saying GloRilla, Sexyy Redd, K Carbon. I want to work with one of them. I don’t care who it is, at least one. But also Lil Baby. You know, if I get a feature with Lil Baby, it’s over with. Indefinitely. Last but not least, Rodd Wave Got to get something with Rod”.

  • Nonetheless, do you have any advice for other aspiring artists?

“Definitely, I’d say be yourself. Be authentic at all times, you know what I’m saying. No matter if you feel like people are rocking with you or if they like this type of music, or they like this type of person doing it. It doesn’t matter. I just say be yourself because at the same time, it’s somebody out there in the world that it can relate to in some type of form of matter. Sometimes somebody may have similar stories over here. Somebody’s got similar stories with this and they’ll be able to relate, regardless. You just have to keep working and grinding so you can reach your audience”.

  • Excited to hear more — what’s next for Two 4 in 2023?

“Just perfecting my craft. Perfecting my personal life, you know, what I’m saying. I’m trying to manage between knowing that I can switch between my personal life and business, but also like bettering myself as a man, you know, what I’m saying. Handling the business as far as moving around keeping my head strong, you know, I know there’s a lot that comes with this, but you know, just really anchoring down and being more into the business part of the music, you know.

A lot of people go to the studio and rap and make music but it takes a lot to be here and there. And a certain amount of professionalism, when you’re doing certain things, people try  to take you out of character and all that type of things. So just being a good human being overall. Just bettering myself day to day. I’m just trying to be the best I can be, you know”.

  • Lastly, is there a message that you’d like to leave with fans?

“Dear fans, I know, I got a couple that have been rocking with me since day one. But everybody is just now catching on, but there’s a reason why I’ve been holding off on dropping projects and dropping music because I wanted to do this the right way. You got to reach everybody. I didn’t want to just cut myself short. So dear fans, I’m on the way! That’s all I got to say for now ,I’m gonna give y’all what you want, what you’re waiting on, and what you want to see”.
