As part of his freestyle series, Funk Flex unveiled today (Nov. 23) his latest feature with current rapper Roddy Ricch. This was a departure for the Compton native, who is usually known for his melodious style of delivery, in which he delivers some hard hitting raps over the instrumental of JAY-Z classic track titled “I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me)”:
Ahead of Roddy Ricch’s appearance on HOT 97, a follow-up to his 2018 breakout mixtape, Feed Tha Streets II, was recently released by announcing Feed Tha Streets III, a follow-up to last week’s Feed Tha Streets II. This new installment contains 15 tracks and there are a few features from Ty Dolla $ign and Lil Durk thrown in as well. A report from Hits Daily Double indicates that the project will make its debut within the top 10 of the Billboard 200 and that 35,000 equivalent units can be expected in sales, according to the report.
Roddy Ricch spoke about the importance of blocking out proverbial noise in a recent interview with Zane Lowe, regarding the process of creating his new portfolio:
“We wanted to have fun while we were making this album and that was the main goal of what we hoped to achieve with this album… It’s just that I didn’t want to worry about too many outside things, you know what I mean? It’s just a matter of time. In terms of outside matters, I did not want to concern myself with anything other than my studio.”
