Fireboy DML has released a new music video for his song “Someone”

The first release of the year for Fireboy DML comes today (May 4). It is the latest single from his upcoming album, “Someone”. This new track is the first time the Nigerian star has taken a more experimental approach to his music, this time gliding over a melody influenced by dance music. The video’s storyline focuses on his European tour as the backdrop to the opening scene, which takes place at one of his shows in Poland just prior to the video’s premiere. He sings the following song as a message to his love interest in which he reveals his true feelings to her:

One of Fireboy’s most recent albums was the Playboy album, which was released in 2022. It was a 14-track project that featured guest features from Ed Sheeran, Rema, Euro, Shenseea, Asake, and Chris Brown. The Playboy album went on to reach Number 1 on the Billboard Heatseeker Albums chart within a few days of its release.

Earlier in the year, the young afrobeats sensation Fireboy DML rose to fame as a result of his successful single “Peru” that reached number one on the charts. Afterward, he shared a remix with a guest appearance by megastar Ed Sheeran, who had contributed to the remix. After dropping this remix, he circled back shortly afterward to deliver another remix, this time collaborating with Blxst and 21 Savage. “ For the excellent quality of its products, Peru” has since been awarded gold certification in both the United States of America and the United Kingdom of Great Britain.

In an interview a few months ago, Fireboy DML explained how ‘Peru’ was created during a time when he was living in Peru. “As soon as I bought my ticket to Africa, I flew to New York State, Los Angeles, Miami, just to see what life was like outside of Nigeria, Lagos, where I live and work. There are things that I did that I would have never done before and that opened up my mind in a positive way. In the end, when I was finally in San Francisco, [‘Peru’] came out during a 45-minute freestyle, and as I explained to him, it was in my own kind of way, the Afrobeats way,” he explained to me.
