The Interview

  • Hey M1H1! Thank you so much for taking the timeout to speak with me today on behalf of MusicHypeBeast! How are you? Let’s get into all things M1H1, first let’s bring it back to the beginning! Who is M1H1 and where did it all begin?

Who is M1H1? I would definitely say Damn, that’s a good question. I would say with one message and one hope. That’s what my name is, it’s an acronym. And, it stands for, hope for the person or whoever is listening to me to prevail and the message for, them is to always live their best life…

The Artistry

  • As Orlando’s very own, how would you say the city cultivated your craft and how it has also set you apart from your peers?

The city’s culture is very diverse, so I grew up really diverse. I had a very diverse and still have a very diverse group of friends. So, it kind of just all rubbed off on me and the downtown life and stuff like that really helped me in growing. Especially with the fact that Orlando is the home of heavy metal. That’s a really really big thing here and that’s what I use in my music. I blend hip hop and metal combined so that’s how it made me.

  • Amazed by your artistic foundation, especially within your name itself. What’s 1 hope and 1 message that has stuck with you from then until now?

Yeah, I would say, “Patience is a virtue”. That’s definitely held close with me pretty much.

  • Additionally, many may not know, but you were a highschool star basketball player! Please tell us about that. What was it about music that motivated you to pursue that a little more than a career in basketball?

I would say I was, alright, I was decent, I was pretty good lol. I played all four years of high school. I was pretty good. I could have went to college off of a D3 scholarship or something like that, but, music is my passion, so that’s what I went with. I would say it was my first show that I did, just the energy that I got from it drew me in.

  • Also, I’m sure still nice on the court. Would you play in the celebrity games?

“Yea, most definitely… lol”

The Rapid Rise in Music

  • Stepping into the spotlight in 2018 with your breakout banger, “407 4life”, you brought a fresh, new sound out of Orlando. Bringing genre- bending sounds out of the south, you lead in your own lane. With that being said, how would you describe your musical style and who or what would you credit it to?

I would definitely say it’s two people. I would say it’s Hopsin and Xxxtentacion. Being that Hopsin he’s more of like a character. Kind of like how Eminem had different characters when he rapped and stuff like that. So it’s like I feel like I’m like the same way and that’s what brings the listener in. Because it’s more like a story and it’s more of an atmospheric thing that I do. I was inspired from Hopsin, but from X, I definitely was inspired by his energy. He had to be respected, it was something iconic about him.

  • As a showstopping stage performer, you have shut down stages from A3C music festival and SXSW. What is your fan-favorite record to perform during your set that always gets the crowd grooving?

Yeah, I would say it was a record from before that I dropped on my M1 for President project. It was called “Psyched Out”. It’s just the greatest build-up song into an explosion, of energy and stuff like that. And I kind of combined instead of combining, hip-hop and metal — I combined pretty much Electronic and metal. So it sounded real trap but also electronic with the metal screams and such. Plus everything I was saying was impactful and maybe political, but that’s where I stand.

What’s Next?

  • Nonetheless, outside of music and sports, are there any other artistic avenues you’re interested in diving into?

I would say, modeling. I’m, creating my own brand and stuff like that. I definitely want to create something that’s different in fashion.I ain’t gonna say too many ideas, but I got an idea about it lol. I’m also into gaming. I do game a lot, so I was thinking of getting my own EA Sports teams or something like that. I definitely want to get that started too.

  • Eager to know more — what’s next for M1H1 in 2023 going into 2024?

We got some stuff coming. New singles, maybe a little project, I can’t talk too much about it, but it’s definitely starting to come together and flourish. So you’ll definitely be seeing a lot of me soon.

  • Lastly, is there a message that you’d like yo leave with fans?

Yes, Patience is a virtue. Don’t let your inner thoughts, control your actual thoughts.
