The new single “For The Night” was released by Chlöe and Latto together

With a number of strong releases so far in 2018, Chlöe has wowed her fans with a number of stellar singles that include “Surprise,” “Freak Like Me” and “Treat Me.” On Monday (Oct. 28), she will release her long-awaited single “For The Night.” In addition to being assisted by Latto, the single is accompanied by a video directed by Shermay Joh. Chlöe sings earnestly on the track that reunites her with her irresistible love, and the lyrics are reflective of the track:

It has been reported that the singer of “Have Mercy,” the song “For The Night,” was written as a tribute to Gunna. “Today I am excited to give you all a very special secret about ‘For the Night,'” she confessed during a Twitter Spaces conversation that took place a couple of weeks ago. “Now I might regret saying this, but I figured, hey, maybe it will help the f**king streams. In fact, I do not even believe that he is aware of this fact. Gunna was my inspiration for ‘For the Night’.”

Chlöe and Halle released their sophomore studio album back in 2020, called Ungodly Hour, which was a 13-track collection of tracks that had collabs from Swae Lee and Mike WiLL Made-It, as well as contributions from a number of other artists. The Billboard 200 ranked Ungodly Hour at number 20 thanks to its 24,000 album-equivalent units that were sold during its first week of release, making it its first ever top 20 ranking.

The latest thing that Latto has been up to this year in terms of music is the official release of her sophomore album 777, which was released in March. There were 13 tracks on that project and they all featured artists such as features 21 Savage, Lil Wayne, Nardo Wick, Childish Gambino, Lil Durk, and Kodak Black.
