The visual for “Count Me Out” features Kendrick Lamar’s therapy session

On Tuesday, December 16, Kendrick Lamar is releasing the visual for the song “Count Me Out,” which he produced in collaboration with J.LBS, DJ Dahi, Tim Maxey, and Sounwave. As he moves forward into his next phase of life as he evolves into the next part of his life, he is focusing on bettering himself because of the strain of the effort:

An animated video directed by Dave Free and Kendrick Lamar opens with a dialogue between Compton rapper Snoop Dogg and the renowned actress Dame Helen Mirren as his psychotherapist – portrayed by the emcee himself in the clip. During the therapy session, she plays the role of the emcee’s therapist. At one point in the video, viewers are taken on a journey inside Lamar’s mind at a certain point in the video. During this journey, he encounters many different business deals. He also takes a COVID test, stands among a large flock of goats, and many other activities that can be considered part of the journey. Towards the end of the video, Kendrick plays the piano while an angel appears to comfort him as he plays the piano. There is a high probability that you will have to play it a few times to catch everything, as you did with the previous drops.

“Count Me Out” is a track from Kendrick Lamar’s fifth studio LP, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, a collection of 18 songs that includes collaborations with Black, Taylour Paige, Baby Keem, Blxst, Sampha, Ghostface Killah, Summer Walker, Kodak and more. This album received universal acclaim upon release and ranked No. 1 on the Billboard 200. A gold certification, which has been granted by the Recording Industry Association of America, has been awarded to the album since then.
