With his new single “Switch Up” featuring Davion Farris, D Smoke returns to the music scene

It was released last September that D Smoke released his latest album, War & Wonders. This album featured 16 tracks and guest appearances by Fireboy DML, Marsha Ambrosius, Ty Dolla $ign, John Legend, Tobe Nwigwe, BJ The Chicago Kid, WESTSIDE BOOGIE, and more. Aside from visuals, fans can also check out clips for “Say Go” and “Crossover.”

The Inglewood-born rapper returned yesterday (Oct. 24) with his new single, “Switch Up,” which follows up his previous single, “El Rey.” Produced by D.K the Punisher, the record features a feature from frequent collaborator Davion Farris. D Smoke opens the song with the following hook concerning staying true to one’s roots:

It was back in 2020 when the emcee known as “Gaspar Yanga” released his critically acclaimed album Black Habits. The first full-length album he released in 2015 came as a result of winning Rhythm + Flow, a Netflix artist competition series hosted by Cardi B, Chance the Rapper, and T.I. In addition to his own work, D Smoke has been featured on tracks including “The Mood” featuring Arin Ray, “Get High, Get By” featuring Kenyon Dixon, “Rhythm Kitchen” with Rare Americans, “Champion” featuring Fireoy DML, and more.
