During his course to three decades, Usher and his humanitarian endeavors have substantially aided impoverished areas.
Making an announcement today, Usher’s New Look (UNL), the R&B legend’s charity organization for underserved youngsters, said it had received a $500,000 donation from the Truist Foundation.
The award will benefit UNL’s high school leadership program and financial literacy initiatives, according to a news statement.
“Breaking the poverty cycle and debt is essential for young people’s future success, especially in these difficult times when we have 16 million children living in poverty.” UNL President and CEO Careshia Moore stated in a news release.
“Having such a proud moment for Usher’s New Look, we are so grateful to Truist Foundation for this transformational grant that will enable us to further our mission and touch the lives of hundreds of young people, assisting them in preparing for their futures while also uplifting themselves and their communities.”
During the past five years, the Truist Foundation has been a supporter of UNL. Now that it has received this latest grant, it has committed $1.5 million to the advocacy and educational group.
In 1999, UNL assisted over 50,000 youngsters via education, professional development, mental health, and wellness programs.
Receiving the $500,000 award will contribute to UNL’s financial literacy curriculum, which helps young people get on the right road toward financial wellness from the start. Making youngsters strive to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty.
According to Truist Foundation president Lynette Bell, “Truist Foundation is committed to assisting Usher’s New Look in furthering its goal by providing young people with access to financial health to help them decide throughout their life.”
