This new video footage begins with a scene showing Kelly singing alone in her room before quickly morphing into a complete music video set with monochromatic outfits and matching backdrops to accompany Kelly’s unique voice. It is clear that in the song, she is reminiscing about the good times she had with a former lover:
A recent interview with Tori Kelly revealed the intention behind the new single she is working on. “In this song, I’m talking about the feeling of missing someone, but I’m also so inspired by the eras of the early 2000s and late 1990s. Our goal was to make sure that both the lyrics and the music in the song conveyed a nostalgic feeling to the listener. There was no doubt in my mind that I would like people to be transported when they listen to this song. In other words, I want them to become nostalgic, whatever that feels like for them,'” she said.
