In addition to its official premiere earlier in the month, the third season of “Godfather of Harlem” by Dave East was also announced. Fans are also going to be able to enjoy a new song every week from the accompanying soundtrack. This has been executive produced by Swizz Beatz, as well as watching the series. As the first offering, Avenue Beatz and Jadakiss have teamed up to produce a gritty introduction track called “Hustle, Repeat” with Jadakiss.
The lead singer of Godfather of Harlem: Season 3 (Official Soundtrack) Swizz Beatz brought us the latest track from the LP, a brand new single featuring Dave East titled “DAMN.” The two New York natives on this track combine their talents to embody the spirit of the series by singing the lyrics such as:
“Godfather of Harlem” is a series about Bumpy Johnson, a legend who was considered by many to be the most dangerous drug dealer in Harlem during the 1960s. In spite of spending more than a decade behind bars, he returned to his home city to find it in ruins. He also found it under the control of an Italian mob that had overrun it. Forest Whitaker portrays the character of Johnson on the series and he is on a quest to reclaim his throne throughout the series.
Dave East took part in the hosting of DJ Drama’s 2022 project Book of David, which included 17 songs and was East’s most recent release. A majority of the album’s tracks were produced by the duo Buda & Grandz, and fans have also been given the opportunity to see visuals for a few of them, including “Seen A Lot,” “No Promo,” and “Through The Fire.” HDIGH (How Did I Get Here?) preceded the release of the sophomore album by boasting appearances by Musiq Soulchild, Method Man, Benny The Butcher, Steven Young, Anthony Hamilton, and plenty of others over nine different tracks.
