As we all know, Alicia Keys released her eighth studio album LP KEYS, a concept album with 26 songs divided between Originals and Unlocked. Additionally, Pusha T, Swae Lee, Khalid, Lil Wayne, Brandi Carlile, and Lucky Daye contributed to Keys’ latest project.
This afternoon (Aug. 12), Keys will release a deluxe edition of the aforementioned album, entitled KEYS II, including four new tracks and collaborations. The album includes Black Coffee, Daye, Kaskade, and Brent Faiyaz, who contributes a vocal and production contribution to “Trillions.” In addition to Jordan Ware, “Trillions” is an extension of “Billions,” an ode to love for both others and self:
Atop the list of top-tier offerings is KEYS, which follows 2020’s ALICIA, which happened to land during an outbreak of COVID-19. As a result of the unavoidable delays, ALICIA still managed to leave fans satisfied with 18 soulful cuts and assists. These included Miguel, Diamond Platnumz, Kaash Paige, Tierra Whack, Sampha, Snoh Aalegra, and many more.
As Keys explained in a previous interview, she made music under quarantine in the following way:
As a matter of fact, I was absolutely confused at the beginning. In other words, what am I supposed to do? Is there a way to do it? I was able to create that space once I really started carving it out. It didn’t happen immediately. Neither of them were constant. “I did not have ideas flowing through my head at all times.”
