New video for “The People” from Dave East

Streaming online yesterday (Sept. 27), Dave East released a brand new EastMix for “The People.” East takes us on a tour of his hometown with the accompanying video, which features shots of him as he cruises down Harlem River Drive, eats at his favorite restaurants, and more. This release sees the NYC rapper incorporating Common’s 2007 song “The People” into his signature flow:

His most recent collection of work was shared in March: HDIGH (or How Did I Get Here?). Among the artists featured on the project were Musiq Soulchild, Method Man, Anthony Hamilton, Steven Young, Benny The Butcher, and plenty more, spread across nine tracks. Following that, he returned months later to offer the official deluxe upgrade, expanding the album to 13 tracks and featuring Lyrivelli, Peedi Crakk, and more.

Previously, we released HOFFA in 2021, a 14-track collaboration with frequent collaborator Harry Fraud. In addition to HOFFA, there were assists from G Herbo, Jim Jones, Curren$y, French Montana, and the late Kiing Shooter. In addition to his own releases, he has been featured on “Ride” with Chinese Kitty, “Traffic” with Lloyd Banks, and “Blood In The Sky” for Millyz.
