Going Colossal, GwalaBoy Phlyy’s latest album, was released at the beginning of November and featured eight tracks and assistance from FG Famous and Bobby Fishscale. From Going Colossal, the Saint Luka-produced “Used To” stands out as a powerful song that shows North Miami rapper flexing current success while reminding listeners of his humble beginning:
The accompanying video for “Used To” was directed by Ntro4k Studios, and shows Phlyy and his crew in a variety of different settings, such as an alleyway and a gas station. Phlyy spends some time at his jeweler getting an iced-out neckpiece during all of this.
In addition to Going Colossal, GwalaBoy Phlyy released North Miami Big Ape, which is highly rated. In addition to a dozen booming cuts, that release featured high-profile collaborations with artists such as Jackboy, Zoey Dollaz, and Sauce Walka.
As previously reported, Phlyy sat down with Dirty Glove Bastard in March for their “Off The Porch” series, discussing where he came up with his decision to pursue music full-time:
Honestly, I began taking it seriously around my sophomore year of high school. Although I am a teenager, I do not have the budget for a studio setup, but my parents went to Sam Ash to purchase one for me.”
