As part of GRM Daily’s “Daily Duppy” freestyle series released on Sunday (Dec. 11), Stefflon Don made her first appearance on the series. The British star was quick to whip through EMX’s drill-inspired production, firing up a flurry of bars laced with patois about her current position in hip-hop:
Almost four years have passed since Stefflon Don released the unquestionably successful Secure album. The album comprised 16 songs featuring the talents of a number of artists, including: Popcaan, Future, DJ Khaled, Sean Paul, Tiggs Da Author, and Sizzla. As a result of that, she has continued to profit from her momentum by releasing a variety of loose tracks, including “Can’t Let You Go,” “Dip” “Move,” produced by Ms Banks, “Phone Down” produced by Lil Baby, “Clockwork,” and “Like That” and produced by Spice. Her work is not limited to her own music. She has contributed to songs by a variety of artists including Saweetie, Lil’ Kim, Mariah Carey, City Girls, Buju Banton, Sean Paul, and Calvin Harris.
According to reports, Stefflon has just finished work on her long-awaited debut album, Island 54, and is currently working on it. According to Nando Leaks, she explained the process of making the album in an interview with him in the past:
“For me, it is essentially one of my most favorite collections, and I have taken a lot of time to spend with this album, really immersing myself in it, and really listening to it. I play music for my family a lot, but what do they like? I can tell you that there are some songs that we are listening to almost on repeat for the past two years. Therefore, I know that those are going to be the songs that everyone will love.”
