On April 1, DaBoyDame will release his first official music release as part of Def Jam Recordings with the track “Feelings,” which features EST Gee and Rick Ross. In the booming cut co-produced with aDupri and Mike Crook, the artists deliver hard-hitting bars tailored to urban environments:
The accompanying video for “Feelings,” which was directed by Mills Miller, opens with an image of Dame riding out in a vintage, all decked out whip in Oakland, which comes to a truly incredible display of automobiles before switching back to him and his collaborators enjoying takeout and Luc Belaire in a room that almost reminds me of a scene from Paid In Full. A graffiti-covered wall is also seen alongside them delivering their lines, harking back to classic hip hop vibes overall.
The artist is as well known for his A&R skills as he is for his own music. DaBoyDame has been part of the same team responsible for Yo Gotti, Jeezy, and YG‘s “Act Right” along with his 2015 drop “Do Ya” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, Eric Bellinger, and Adrian Marcel. A year later, he collaborated with Blac Youngsta and Mozzy for Can’t Fake The Real, which contained 11 tracks and additional production from Ink, Moneybagg Yo, Nef The Pharoah, Yani, Eastside Peezy, and LunchMoney Lewis.
